Bars-n-tone 39
It's a damn shame, but considering her past, she either deserved to be dumped or did not deserve. Well....I think you covered all of your bases there. 5Viewer 1
Alycia Lane may just be the catch WBBM in Chicago needs. Instead of trying to be more like WLS, maybe they could go in a "more hip" direction. I can just picture it now.. A much faster pace CBS 2 News at 5 & 10 with a "more hip" anchor line-up: Rob Johnson, Alycia Lane (replacing Diann Burns), Meteorologist Steve Baskerville, and Meghan Mawicke (replacing Mark Malone) on sports. Alycia Lane fits well WBBM's current talent rejoin ( ) with the hard electric guitar cut of Enforcer New Generation perfectly. Just replace voiceover Bill Ratner with Vic Caroli or Joe Cipriano. The newscast itself is a more action-filled newscast with more "walking and talking" style reporting like WBBM used to do years ago and even the "walk and talk" style anchoring in the studio in front of large plasma screens. Instead of playing the Enforcer theme for the closing of the 10PM newscast, CBS 2 News at 10 closes with an instrumental only Cyndi Lauper's "All Through The Night" (no lyrics). When Alycia first arrives in town, CBS 2 bombards the airwaves with promos for Alycia using Roxette's hit, "Dangerous". The promos focus more on her looks than anything else. Of course, that most likely won't happen.. However, things for Alycia Lane are only going to get better. All I can say is don't be surprised to see Alycia Lane reporting for a network news. She's got alot of what the business is looking for nowadays. That is interesting. I do agree that Alycia and Rob Johnson would make a good team. Diann Burns' contract is up in the fall, so this is a possibility. Remember, it is CBS that dismissed Alycia, and it will be that company that would face a lawsuit from her, should she choose to file one. Seeing her at another CBS property (KCBS/KCAL, WBBM, WCBS, etc, etc,) would be quite unlikely. mbhcity 3
You know what I think...If Alycia gets a job..she, like many other aspiring cool types, comes to LA and works at one of the two duopolies (CBS or FOX). I definitely can imagine her alongside either Laura Diaz or Lauren Sanchez, covering the nonstop Britney Hilton Lohan Richie, OJ, car chases, drive-by's and all that blood and guts we get here, plus a few minutes of some good ol' fluffy news and happy talk. Or she could take a job with KTLA, which like the duopolies, is already becoming very tabloid-esque. it would be a nice fit, me thinx.
