WXmanTim 88
Rick Rosenthal (1984-1994 approx): Now works as a law enforcement media consultant/educator. Pat Harvey (1985-1989): Now with KCAL-Los Angeles. John Drury (1967-1970 and again 1979-1984): Recently deceased, but bounced between WLS and WGN throughout the 1970s until leaving for WLS for good in 1984. The original anchors of WGN's "Tenth Hour News" (which premiered in 1961) were Jim Conway (News), Ned Locke (Weather) and Jack Brickhouse and Vince Lloyd (Sports). 312newswannabe 11
Not that I'm complaining cause I like Micah Materre, but where has Alison been for the last 2 weeks? I know she is in the area...suspended for telling Jim Ramsey he is starting to sound like Tom Skilling on air then laughing/grinning not realizing she was on camera? Is that the reason Allison Payne has been gone lately? If so, that's quite juicy! I've was also wondering where she's been the past few days. WXmanTim 88
I believe Allison has been on and off the past several months due to her ailing father i think? It might be another family member.. but i am unsure. Actually, according to today's Sun-Times (via Newsblues) Allison has been off-the-air due to her own health problems. She's had a series of "mini-strokes" over the last year, which she is slowly recovering from. I also remember "Park-Ruddle News" in the mid-60's, I think it was one of the first anchor teams, Gary Park and Jim Ruddle. Ruddle went on to a long career in Chicago TV news, mostly with Channel 5. Through most of the 70's, the news was anchored by Jack Taylor, who I believe still does a radio show in suburban Chicago. Spring Rubber 703
I noticed that WGN omitted the talent open tonight. I wonder if this has something to do with Allison's health. I wish her all the best. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/2934-wgn-9-anchors-befor-alison-payne-and-steve-sanders/#findComment-27692 Share on other sites

I wish her all the best. It's been pretty common around here for a station to omit the talent rejoin if one of the talent is out long term (2 weeks or more).
