WXmanTim 88
Landmark Communications has announced plans to sell its two CBS affiliate, WTVF-Nashville and KLAS-Las Vegas. Not that this was a surprise to anyone. The rest of the company's portfolio is still be scrutinized for sale, including The Weather Channel. Here's a twist, though, Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network has reportedly made an offer to buy the company's flagship newspaper, The Virginian-Pilot. Why? To stifle negative coverage of the Christian broadcaster's activities. Heh. Ntropolis 596
Pat Robertson offering to buy the Pilot is actually old news... it won't happen. Just spells death for the paper. Interesting article from earlier this month about what if the Virginian-Pilot and the Daily Press (Peninsula newspaper) merged to make one regional paper: http://hamptonroads.com/2008/01/industry-experts-doubtful-merger-daily-press-and-virginianpilot Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/2986-landmark-announces-finally-plans-to-sell-wtvf-and-klas/#findComment-26614 Share on other sites
