sctvhound 27
The local stations here in Charleston have covered the sugar refinery fire in Port Wentworth, GA (near Savannah) heavily. WCSC brought their own reporter, Amanda Fitzpatrick, for the story, while WCBD used Holly Bounds from WSAV, their sister station in Savannah. WCIV had the story, but no live report, because nobody had gotten there via ABC NewsOne. WTOC had their normal bad coverage, as they didn't even let the Early Show use their resources for the story, even though they were the local station. Instead, WTEV from Jacksonville had to cover the story, with Matt Saffer, one of their "mobile journalists". Surprising, even WJCL, one of the worst ABC stations on the East Coast, added a half-hour to their news, starting at 5:30 instead of 6 for this story. They say that they are streaming their news on-line, but it is not working. For Savannahians, this is just as bad as what the fire at the Sofa Super Store was for Charlestonians.
