superbad 1
I know many fault Burns and her salary for the ratings issues at WBBM. But could management also be to blame for failing to user her better and build a support team for her. I think they sat back and prayed she could fix it all by herself. Link 3
I know many fault Burns and her salary for the ratings issues at WBBM. But could management also be to blame for failing to user her better and build a support team for her. I think they sat back and prayed she could fix it all by herself. Her prescence alone on the CBS 2 newscasts were not enough to raise the ratings. She wrongly assumed the large African American audience that ABC 7 has was to her credit and that audience would follow her wherever she went. They didn't follow and she used that to try to get more money at ABC 7 and then also played the race card over construction at her home. This bad publicity has not helped her win over viewers and I know some that have no use for her and will no longer watch her. I think CBS 2 News will improve some in ratings with her gone. CBS 2's short rise in the ratings at 5:00pm were due to Dr. Phil's strong lead at 4pm. The 10:00pm ratings improved due in part to CBS's strong primetime linup. It didn't last though and the ratings are back in the basement again. I also don't think it helps her image with viewers that it is said time and again she is the highest paid anchor in Chicago. I can't think that Kathy Brock, Cheryl Burton, Linda Yu, or Allison Rosati are the type of professionals that want to be be known for being the highest paid anchor in Chicago...no way. Is Diann supposed to be a better anchor for that? I hardly think so. The only thing she seems to be interested in is money.
