On June 1, 2007 a tornado hit Muscatine Iowa, and when NewsChannel 8 (WQAD) was getting a live feed from the company helcopter, KWQC stole the feed.... heres also a promo aired from WQAD... (NICE WAY TO STORM BACK!) Form what i have been told, this is still going on a KWQC could be seeing some fines, not from WQAD, but from Local TV.... http://www.localtvllc.com/pressroom/page/3/ Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/3262-a-heated-debate/ Share on other sites
FirstNews8 13
Okay? This is from almost a year ago...... But... the fines are now coming out and Local TV will be fining KWQC... a possible $150,000... an "investgation" has been going on since this happened, and i think they have come to this conclusion.. Ntropolis 596
Fine? Do you mean sue? Local TV can't "fine" KWQC because it's owned by a totally different company. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/3262-a-heated-debate/#findComment-29071 Share on other sites

Yeah, but this means even more trouble, not only for KWQC, bur for Young Broadcasting... the company has so many problems recently, and to deal with this KWQC has fired 8 people, including a long- time meteorologist, and some of the best reporters on there, that made the station watchable, and alot of them are now moving over to WQAD, such as Chris Williams, but itll be awhile before some of the others show up because they cant break the no compete clause.
