Well ABC news is going HD on September 8th. They have HD already but hasn't made the switch yet.

It's about time! now every national evening broadcast news program is in HD.

World News is in HD tonight. ABC's coverage of the DNC will also be in HD as will Nightline. Left side pillar is used for stocks and weather info

So now (for the time being) that all three evening newscasts are in HD, I'm impressed ABC went one step ahead of the competition with that addition on the sidebars.

Maybe it was just my TV, but I was watching ABC World News last night and noticed that the weather/stock info on left sidebar (not sure how accurate that info is) was cut off just a little. Hopefully they can nudge that info a few spaces to the right so that the words aren't cut off.

It's your overscan on your TV, I'm assuming you watched on a RPTV. I watched on my tuner, there was more than enough space between the stock info and the edge of the sidebar. I have videos of both Nightline and WNT, I'll post them later.

ABC Is really one step ahead of the game with its HD rollout...we were all thinking 9/8 but very impressive....GO ABC GO!

Same thing here. Both of my LCDs had it cut off.
