Also, if by experience there may be any "tips" on how to "upgrade" this to get even better reception, especially if you're like me, a semi-hobbyist dxer? In fact, I used to own a shortwave radio when I was a teenager. I made my own antenna to go with the one already attached to the radio (not exactly an amplifier), and the reception did improve somewhat. My radio used to get the TV audio from channels 2-5 (with 5--KTLA--coming in the clearest). I saw something similar to this video on another site (I think it was DBSTalk.com), but it was actually picture-by-picture instructions, with it being a little less complicated than the above video.
