Jeffmister 0 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Surprised no-one has created this thread yet, but feel free to discuss the cable networks/networks coverage of both the Democratic & the Republican National Conventions over the next fortnight. I've saw some of CNN's coverage & I like what they're doing with the lower-third's (not so sure about the stuff on both sides:
kjohnson 20 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I don't have cable, so I went with next best thing; PBS. The News Hour staff will be covering both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, all in HD (on PBS HD), in an effective, balanced way. Jim Lehrer is doing his customary good job.
DMA 136 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 PBS had good HD quality, practically no graphics, and if there was any commentary, it was somewhat brief.
abric 228 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 The best thing about PBS was that even people who had SDTVs could still enjoy the HD look of the DNC. My TV will be set to PBS all week.
Weeters 2173 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I haven't been paying much attention, but yesterday, CNN's CG wasn't displaying the ' sign. Instead it would display something like [x]ã. It reminded me of TVNT's shoutbox. I thought it was worth a LOL.
