ThatSowislander 52 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 [yt]kvoVK5AEvEQ[/yt] No wonder KYTX is in last place.
CircleSeven 1960 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I saw this vid the other day. Worst presentation of graphics (why can't they get they own graphics instead of whoring off the network, I don't care if you're in market #3 trillion), them dropping the "Eyewitness News" name to "KYTX CBS 19 News" (what a mouthful) and not to mention that this has to be the worst VO I've ever heard in my life. And oh yeah, weren't that the same station that taped that show "Anchorwomen" last summer and on the day after the premiere aired, FOX yanked that show quick? I'm more than happy that KLTV 7 is the bread and butter of that market.
roscoryan 21 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I don't think the graphics are all that horrible, given the market. I do think the branding is bad...it's just too much of a cluster****. And yeah, the VO is the the most awful I've ever heard!
News24/7 3 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I don't know what you're smoking, but these graphics are atrocious...especially considering their previous graphics package from Chad Arantz: [/url]http://tv.cmagic.com/content/view/86/65/ Everyone knows that Arial doesn't belong on the news. I also counted about 5 completely different logos on this video (the ID, the ones on the set, and the one on the website)...this station has MAJOR branding problems.:bang:
DMA 135 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 They don't look terrible...the V/O and logo is horrible, but it doesn't look too bad graphically. It certainly looks better than some other graphical packages I've seen.
Geoffrey 873 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 What's with the top and bottom graphics in the promos not cover the entire top and bottom?
Ntropolis 598 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 What's with the top and bottom graphics in the promos not cover the entire top and bottom? You wouldn't see those on most TVs. The cut-out space is outside of the safe zones.
kjohnson 17 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 They look like bastardized versions of graphics from CBS News...The Voice Over is horrendous as well... The only vestige of the Cinemagic package is the station ID. So what is it? KYTX CBS19, CBS19, or CBS 19 Eyewitness News, or stranger still, KYTX CBS 19 [Eyewitness] News?
Weeters 1969 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Worst VO's ever. And I was waiting for the L3 at the end to say "Graphics Designed By Marcus Harun".
Geoffrey 873 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 You wouldn't see those on most TVs. The cut-out space is outside of the safe zones. I don't know... I'd say that is VERY far away from the edge of the screen. Many 4:3 TVs show that area, not to mention the HD sets... Just very sloppy.
jestbiteme 13 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 They look like bastardized versions of graphics from CBS News...The Voice Over is horrendous as well... The only vestige of the Cinemagic package is the station ID. So what is it? KYTX CBS19, CBS19, or CBS 19 Eyewitness News, or stranger still, KYTX CBS 19 [Eyewitness] News? I wonder if the graphics are primarily from CBS. The background that the ID is keyed over appears to be the standard CBS primetime programming graphics, and the 3d stroke effect is a) too complicated for KYTX and mirror image of what KDKA uses for their CBS issued primetime programming bumper (although using a different background.) That and the similarity to the CBS Evening News graphics and...? In any event, terrible execution. Another bastardized package for KYTX. I wasn't a fan of the repurposed KDKA graphics (mainly because, like Arial, Serpentine doesn't belong on the news) but they looked better.
ProButtonPusher 230 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 graphics weren't that bad, except for where people noted that the tops and bottoms of the promo's overlays were too short...they really should have gone all the way to the edges. Imaging sucks (echo, srsly?), but i liked every graphic that they had "in show".
News24/7 3 Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Apparently KYTX doesn't like being called a shitty station. They claimed copyright on the video, but it looks like its back up on Youtube...in a slightly different form. Take a look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L95EPpA0x7w
