NYNews 54
I think David Gregory was the best choice. I don't think Chuck Todd, Andrea Mitchell, and Gwen Ifill were right for the job. They don't have that sense of command when they're on air. Your thoughts? NewsJunkie247 1
I kind of figured that David Gregory would get the job. He has certainly earned the job working his way up the ladder at NBC. I think he was the best choice and I wish him the best of luck. On a side note, while I was watching the morning news on WPXI, fill-in anchor Kimberly Easton mentioned at the end of the broadcast that "David Gregory has been announced as the new host of NBC's Today Show, which is seen weekdays at 7 on WPXI". That probably caused for a little bit of confusion among some viewers. They don't have that sense of command when they're on air. Your thoughts? Of that bunch, Gregory was definitely the best pick. Wonder if Brokaw will spend some of his "retirement" researching President-elect Obama (considering he said that he didn't know that much about him) Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/4778-new-meet-the-press-moderator/#findComment-44812 Share on other sites

Most likely because of this: http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/nbc/oops_the_ap_alert_on_the_david_gregory_announcement_102616.asp Ah, the retardedness of WPXI never ceases to amaze me. NewsJunkie247 1
Wow, that was a big mistake on the AP's part! Can't believe they would get that wrong. More importantly, I can't believe that WPXI didn't catch that being that they are an NBC affiliate. I just thought that one of the writers at WPXI put into the prompter that he had been announced as the host of the Today Show by mistake, and then the anchor read it that way and had no time to correct it.
