The new service will retain the name and will include syndicated programming." Im4NY4ever 0
Does anyone actually watch this dribble? I suspect most non Fox owned stations would want to abandon ship and do their own syndicated fare. And Fox said this would be the TV network of the future - novellas which no one watched, reruns no one watches, Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5011-changes-to-mynetworktv/#findComment-47024 Share on other sites

StudioTech 15
Maybe they'll redesign that ugly logo. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5011-changes-to-mynetworktv/#findComment-47027 Share on other sites
WAVY 10 Fan 233
Well, what would that make it then, a programming service and the stations effectively become independent again? I'm interested in seeing how this works out. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5011-changes-to-mynetworktv/#findComment-47034 Share on other sites
Jess 1115
The MyNet stations were basically independents already. I think this quote, from a WPHL press release regarding their pickup of the Phillies, sums it up best (my emphasis): “myphl17 has proved time and again that they are the right partner to provide quality programming for Phillies fans who choose to watch the game from home,” said Phillies Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising Sales David Buck. “As an independent station, they have the ability to provide prime time coverage that will be complemented with the right balance of advertising and marketing support and we’re excited to have them on board again as our television rights holder.” From what I watch of WPHL, MyNet seems to get comparatively little promotion for anything other than wrestling. They actually run a promo loop on 17.2 - and most of the promos are for the sitcoms and other syndicated programming - they're also hyping the Phillies considerably. This is coming from a station that was one of the biggest cheerleaders of the WB. I'm fairly surprised they haven't ditched the "My" logo and prefix and just went back to "PHL 17". Actually I wouldn't be shocked if they did just that when the Phillies open the season.
