moshewx 19 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I was in the subway last week and saw an ad for a law firm with Joh Roland as "Compnesated Endorser". Doesn't he own a restaurant somewhere too?
DMA 135 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Yeah, I saw that ad on the R. I thought the phrase "compensated endorser" was strange, but I didn't know he was a reporter for 5...
TeleFan 0 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 John was an anchor on 5 for 34 years, retiring in 2004. Began training classes for politicians and corporate execs who wanted to create a good impression on television. Not sure if he still owns the restaurant, but recall he wouldn't hire unemployed actors. He wanted "professional waiters" on the staff. Being a pitchman for a law firm is certainly a long fall from the 10 O'Clock News.
Harry Houdini 0 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Not a fall at all. He retired from the news. He may be making more money with the ad than the news. Joe Dimaggio made more money from Mr. Coffee ads than he did with his entire baseball career.
