Darlene in for Sue

Typically I am open to the times that Darlene Rodriguez fills in for Sue, but this week seemed littered with problems. WNBC seems to be having one glitch after another. I am not sure if they got an intern to act as the TelePrompTer operator or what. Darlene seemed to have a hard time covering up for the mistakes that happened behind the scenes. Camera shots were being taken erroneously and Darlene was like a deer in headlights. I will give kudos to both Chuck and Chris Cimino, they covered very well when you could tell that they were forced to ad-lib. I just wonder how frustrating it is for Chuck dealing with this complete incompetence after years of professional staff and solid direction.

Also, what is this nonsense of listing 3 areas that "4NY" covers before cutting to commercial? Maybe WNBC can put a big block of cheese on the desk and just shoot to that instead.

A quick sidebar; I was just watching weekend TINY and heard Pat Battle call Raphael Miranda "hun". Since she could now be considered a lucky old-timer, you gotta love her moxie!

Have a good weekend.

I see the automation is working quite nicely. :(
