I like the changes, the current branding is too far away from the PBS brand. PBS is slowly shifting towards having networked programming, and it only makes sense to have a more structured national newscast.

 

I think that the addition of a 10 or 15 minute local/regional slot would be really useful, I'm sure it would increase the relevance of the programming.

I could imagine Val Zavala doing a SoCal Connected segment at that time.

That could work here in St. Louis. Half of the on-air people used to work at KSDK...

Yeah, and if the local PBS station couldn't do it, the PBS Newshour could just air filler stories.

I wonder who KAKM (Anchorage) will get for the local segments (definitely NOT former KTUU anchor/news director John Tracy)...
