NYxaq 0 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 ‘NewsHour’ on PBS to Get Makeover MORE FROM PBS http://www.pbs.org/newshour/aboutus/newshour.html
DMA 136 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I like the changes, the current branding is too far away from the PBS brand. PBS is slowly shifting towards having networked programming, and it only makes sense to have a more structured national newscast. I think that the addition of a 10 or 15 minute local/regional slot would be really useful, I'm sure it would increase the relevance of the programming.

I could imagine Val Zavala doing a SoCal Connected segment at that time.
kjohnson 17 Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 That could work here in St. Louis. Half of the on-air people used to work at KSDK...
DMA 136 Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Yeah, and if the local PBS station couldn't do it, the PBS Newshour could just air filler stories.
johnnya2k6 171 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I wonder who KAKM (Anchorage) will get for the local segments (definitely NOT former KTUU anchor/news director John Tracy)...
