xott 0 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I know of a couple but am wondering what other map option are floating around out there besides the following Handmade Google Earth Pro Viz|Curious Maps Axis/Chyron Fast maps So please throw out any other options that you may have heard of or found, Also if you have any likes or dislikes about any of the above mentioned please share with everyone. My experiences = Handmade (Google and Photoshop) - long and argues Google Earth Pro - Not much control over the visuals and exporting is clunky Axis/Chyron Fast maps - Great that its web bases but can become slow depending what tier you are signed up for. Custom visuals are limited because it is Flash based Thanks Everyone
blueflag 0 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Or, if you're at every station I've ever worked at, they gank a still from your street-level radar (with the radar data and such turned off, of course) and mark it up in Chyron. It's kind of a PITA, but it works.
Dave Lampstein 124 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I've seen some traffic mapping systems (based off weather mapping technology) used for news maps... Weather Central makes one of these systems (3D Traffic)
