PTVNews 194
Does anyone know what that plastic material is that the blue light shines though is called? Also, what about the "metal" strips that create the boxes? Thanks. Image 1 Image 2 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5384-set-material/ Share on other sites
Weeters 1916
[st]That would likely be frosted Arcrylic glass.[/st] And the metal is probably just aluminum or polished steel. EDIT: Err, on closer inspection, that looks to be a plastic sheet. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5384-set-material/#findComment-50311 Share on other sites
PTVNews 194
EDIT: Err, on closer inspection, that looks to be a plastic sheet. Yeah, ok. But is there a certain name for it or anything? Or do you know where to buy it? Someplace like Lowe's? Thanks! Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5384-set-material/#findComment-50313 Share on other sites
Weeters 1916
Yeah, ok. But is there a certain name for it or anything? Or do you know where to buy it? Someplace like Lowe's? Thanks! I checked around Google and found this, but it's pretty thin. Maybe you could email someone like FX Group, KPTV (that's a local set, right?), or one of the set fabrication companies and ask them what it is exactly and where it can be acquired. PTVNews 194
Yeah. I've tried searching Google. I guess I'll try and email. It is a local set. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5384-set-material/#findComment-50321 Share on other sites
jestbiteme 13
Yeah. I've tried searching Google. I guess I'll try and email. It is a local set. You could probably achieve that look with a properly size sheet of Lexan and an opaque acrylic finish. Weeters 1916
The website I linked to also sells Acrylic sheets with P95 coating, which FX Group uses in it's sets. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5384-set-material/#findComment-50333 Share on other sites
