Guest cfif Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Weigel Broadcasting's WWME-Ch. 23, which is allowed to continue broadcasting in analog because of its status as a low-power station, has announced an "unprecedented" agreement to simulcast newscasts from NBC-owned WMAQ-Ch. 5 and Chicago Tribune parent Tribune Co.'s WGN-Ch. 9. The arrangement is for at least 30 days. *snip* The "lifeline" programming on analog Channel 23 will include WMAQ's weekday morning news from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. and weeknights at 6 p.m., Saturdays at 6 a.m., 9 a.m. and weekend nights at 5 p.m. WGN's 9 p.m. news will be simulcast seven nights a week, except when there's baseball on either WGN or WCIU. kjohnson 17 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 That's an interesting concept. The one question I have is how many people in Chicagoland can actually see WWME-CA over-the-air?
Dave Lampstein 124 Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Has to be a decent amount as the original programming offered on WWME had a very loyal following.
