johnnya2k6 171 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Since it knocked Farrah Fawcett off the headlines after only a few hours, how is the coverage of Michael Jackson's sudden death played out in other countries? I'll start with Canada, where it was the lead story on ALL the English-language (CBC, CTV, Global, CityTV) and French-language (TVA, Radio-Canada) networks. What about in Europe, especially Britain? Australia? Asia?
kjohnson 17 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 It should come as no surprise the BBC covered the world events, then Michael Jackson.
NewsJunkie247 1 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I'm sure that most news outlets around the world had coverage of his death.
hinto 0 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Coverage on Seven Melbourne's 6pm news: The open wasn't there, but it's safe to assume it was the lead. Look-lives from the UCLA medical centre and MJ's rented home. I'm guessing Seven Sydney got the actual live shots.

hinto 0 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 From Hong Kong... Hong Kong Cable News led off its morning show Friday 6am (Thursday 6pm Eastern Time) with news of MJ being taken to the hospital. They finally confirmed his death at 7.34am. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gow6UOokfLc Coverage on TVB's 6.30pm news. Looks like they stuck it at the end of the first block instead of leading with it.
