KTTV/KCOP to send pink-slip warnings to 95 staffers.

Broadcasting and Cable is reporting that the FOX Owned-and-operated duopoly in Los Angeles could cut 95 staff members within 60 days. No anchors have been mentioned in the cuts, but mostly off-air staff, including camera crew, editors, writers, the helicopter team, promo department staff, sales and marketing and creative services people. The reason? Go figure, the economy. However, depending on the climate of the economy, that number might be less, or perhaps those who lose their positions may be hired for another opening.

 

It is also reported that KTTV might lay off its entire chyron staff, perhaps as some suggested moving their operations to WTVT. Not a good sign.
