newsfanatic 4 Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 http://www.vartv.com/pdf/WTKR_2009_08_14.pdf Apparently, the biggest sports story of the summer was broken by the station that had that long history of not being very good.... was not expecting this...
tvpirate05 1 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Thursday night, they actually showed a timeline of how the events unfolded. Ted Alexander broke in during the Redskins pregame show around 7:30. ESPN didn't pick it up until about an hour later. Friday night, they did a package on how everything went down. It was a nice score for 'TKR, and self-promotion for the station is always good. I just think the timeline and a package were a bit much. ;-)
WAVY 10 Fan 233 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Surprised they were first, as I had the TV on ESPN to catch the Super Bowl 43 rematch. Good for 'TKR. Had this been a year ago, I'd have been shocked.

Now that they're getting back to the vague concept of journalism, it's been going well for them. Plus, they do have the #1 Midday News and beat WVEC for #2 at 11.....
