PelicanGuy 117
Some news that's caught a lot of attention down here recently: * WDSU begins a 4 pm newscast Sept. 14. The one-hour show will be anchored by recent Randi Rousseau and newcomer Scott Walker, a Metairie native. Randi will continue to do traffic weekday mornings while Scott will also replace Norman Robinson on the 5 pm newscast, co-anchoring with Camille Whitworth. The move also means WDSU is dumping its noon newscast Monday, which is currently anchored by Melanie Hebert. http://www.wdsu.com/wdsunewsteam/index.html * The biggest news TV wise is that Lee Zurik is leaving Channel 4. Zurick, the Peabody-winning weekend anchor and investigative reporter tells The Times-Picayune that he's leaving WWL-TV when his contract ends in a few weeks. He says he isn't leaving the city and plans to continue to do news in the city. Rumors say he could land at WVUE. http://www.nola.com/tv/index.ssf/2009/09/lee_zurik_says_hes_leaving_wwl.html Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5785-news-from-the-big-easy-new-orleans/ Share on other sites

I'm surprised to read about Lee leaving WWL. He seemed like a shooting star there. Fox 8 does seem like a good fit, especially with WWL's former EP being the new Fox 8 news director.
