NewsProducer 0
It's a small, inconsequential market out in the west... but I live and work here, so what the hell. - KKTV-11-CBS recently added a 9:00 a.m. newscast to it's line up. Presumably because it's cheaper than syndicated programming. - KXRM-21-FOX is preparing to launch a 6:30 p.m. newscast. This is in addition to FOX 21 Morning News which runs from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. weekdays, and FOX 21 News at Nine. - KRDO-13-ABC recently moved long time evening anchor Jon Karroll to Good Morning Colorado and NEWSCHANNEL 13 at Noon, along with Vida Urbonas, former KWGN (Denver) anchor. Vida was originally hired to anchor KRDO's weekend morning newscasts. That's it for now. I'll post updates as I get them. NewsProducer 0
It looks like KOAA is trying out anchoring their newscasts from both Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Tonight, they had Rob Quirk on set in Pueblo and Lisa Lyden on a new set in Colorado Springs. There's no prompter in the springs, and the audio sounded hollow. This could really shake up the market if they can make it work. newscenter 0
Isn't KOAA's headquarters in Pueblo, and the bureau is in Colorado Springs? NewsProducer 0
The short answer is yes. The long answer is the main facility, including the studio, is in Pueblo. Most of the news staff, including the news director, work out of Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs technically is a bureau, but it functions as much more than a bureau. To my knowledge, this is the first time they've tried having someone anchor from Colorado Springs. If they can fix the audio and get a prompter, it might work. NewsProducer 0
Rob and Lisa were back on the set together tonight, so who knows what they are doing? KXRM launched their 6:30 tonight. I didn't get a chance to see it, but I did notice at 9:00 that they've got new supers and OTS's. The supers aren't bad, but in general their look is pretty terrible. It's based on their old Raycom graphics package from years ago, but they've changed it so much that it's a mess now. You've got to give them credit for putting on the product they do though. Barrington hasn't given them much to work with.
