"Former KYW Business Analyst Fred Sherman Dies

Long-time KYW business contributor Fred Sherman has passed away.

 

Retired KYW anchor Don Lancer worked with Fred Sherman for 25 years. They had such a unique rapport; some would consider the business reports to be the Don and Fred show.

 

Don Lancer recalls the first time he spoke with Fred Sherman:

 

"Fred called and said you know the people you have on the air doing business are terrible, they're dull, and I can do better. I said well prove it! So Fred put together a minute report and from the time I heard it until I retired, Fred was one of my main guys."

 

But it was not uncommon for Don to cut Fred off:

 

"That was an ongoing thing with Fred and I and it was really a shtick. I would tell Fred just keep talking until I cut you off because they used to listen whether they loved or hated it, because they wanted to hear what was going to happen!"

 

"Fred! Fred! Fred! Goodbye Fred!"

 

Goodbye Fred Sheeerrrrmman."
