newscenter 0
It's has been 25 years, and it is still going strong at NBC News to this day. The Mission - Theme from NBC News - is done by John Williams. Williams is the man who composed the themes for Superman, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, E.T. and Jaws. Some of the cuts from the package have retired, but some remain on the air: Nightly News - the major one of the package - is used for opens and closes Scherzo for Today - the opening cut is still on the air, while Michael Karp supplies all the other pieces (bumper, closes, rejoins) Fugue for Changing Times - it is not just used to break into programming, but it is also used as a theme to the longest-running Sunday morning public affairs program known as Meet the Press During the Tom Brokaw/Brian Williams transition, the updated music package done in 2004 added the NBC Chimes; the original version did not have any NBC Chimes. The cuts from the Mission NBC News package - that are retired can be heard again for old times sake on networknewsmusic.com/nbc.html Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5881-nbc-news-theme-from-john-williams-turns-25-next-year/ Share on other sites
