NewsJunkie247 1 Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 If you have Time Warner Cable, starting on January 1st, you may not be able to watch FOX shows like "American Idol", "House", "Glee", and NFL playoff games as well as local Fox O&O's newscasts. http://money.cnn.com/2009/12/24/news/companies/fox_time_warner_cable/ Fox News Channel will not be affected and will remain on Time Warner Cable if a deal is not reached. FOX has started its own website devoted to keeping the network on Time Warner Cable: http://www.keepfoxon.com/fox I personally think that if a deal is not reached and if Fox is taken off, Time Warner Cable will suffer immensely since Time Warner is one of the biggest cable companies in large TV markets such as New York and Los Angeles.
Weeters 2173 Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 The local stuff only affects markets with O&O stations. I know Local TV has already renegotiated, LIN did last year, ect.

DMA 136 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I don't blame Time Warner. If a channel is available OTA, it should be available to the cable companies for free in that DMA.
seriouslythough 0 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Didn't this happen with Viacom and TWC? And what happened to must-carry laws?
Weeters 2173 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Didn't this happen with Viacom and TWC? And what happened to must-carry laws? Must-carry only applies if the station wishes to be carried. Stations can't be forced to air their programming on a cable system.
