newscenter 0 Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 There are stations out there, which they adopt the network's graphic and animations, and use them for news opens and graphics. For example: WXMI FOX-17 took the graphics and animation from the network SO FOX campaign, and used it for news opens and graphics Talent open - where they use the same animation for anchors, as the network does for stars like Keifer Sutherland (24), Simon Cowell (Idol) and Simpsons http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gd6ZtOcFAqA&feature=related News Open - where they use the animation, even to close the FOX promos by saying SO FOX http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSgKun_bwOU&feature=related
WCAUTVNBC10 416 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 I've always have been a fan of stations that took this approach.
Ntropolis 600 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Seems like a handful of ABC stations have incorporated the "Start Here" sounder/animation to their news opens, such as WISN: KLAS used their own local version of the CBS Evening News graphics for their opens from 1992-1995. Videoholic uploaded it to Youtube, but took it down. When WTVT became "FOX 13 Eyewitness News" they incorporated the FOX ID into their already-existing open: KYTX uses their own version of the old CBS Evening News graphics.
TennTV1983 811 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Do these look familiar? Yeah, that was during a time when WGCL was (is?) still in identity crisis mode.

That's pretty cool. 615 Music's "The Unexpected" definitely fits 'em.
d247 43 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 KIAH-TV in Houston uses the current CW look for thier newscasts.
mightynine 290 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 For a while, WWL-TV took their graphics cue for the L3s from CBS News - here's their red and yellow look from the early 90s: The next look after this, I believe, was when they started to head out on their own.
WCAUTVNBC10 416 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 KIAH-TV in Houston uses the current CW look for thier newscasts. I almost forgot. WPSG took on the original CW look when then network launched.

kjohnson 17 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 WXMI's are very well done. It would be nice to see stations do that more often.
tvweatherman 0 Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 WXMI's are very well done. It would be nice to see stations do that more often. They are alright, but I think it's to much gray!! Just like WGN..
cityprod 9 Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Here in the UK, BBC regions and ITV regions use the same graphics as their network cousins. S4C uses BBC graphics because BBC produce their news programme. RTE in Ireland has no local news service.
