Well, it appears as of now, that they (as always), have evolved the 2006-2007 NFL on FOX graphics into what I can declare are the best HD graphics ever made! I like that, why don't they ever have the people who design the FOX Sports graphics do the FOX News Channel graphics? FNC can barely do L3's properly, yet FOX Sports is always extremely elegant! But, the only bad parts so far, is a screenshot I found on AVS Forums of the new pillar boxes...U.G.L.Y! Click if you dare. Also, Dierks Bentley's pre-race performance was horrible. KKyuubi 0 Posted February 11, 2007 Author Share Posted February 11, 2007 Nice to see that for the first time in NASCAR on FOX history, the graphics are actually "optimized for HD", alot of elements (like the starting grid and running order scrolls) properly stretch across the entire screen on the HD feed, instead of being center aligned for the 4:3 safe zone or cut off at the left side. Also, nice to see that (as always), the new graphics share some styling cues with this year's NFL on FOX graphics.. Only problem: the ticker is very slow. I hope they fix that soon. When NASCAR on NBC/TNT's final set of graphics debuted, they had the exact same problem (slow ticker), but they ended up fixing it. Please FOX, FIX IT NOW!!! Spring Rubber 703 Posted February 11, 2007 Share Posted February 11, 2007 I really wish they would've stopped the scrolling starting grid and gone back to showing one row at a time or at least five rows at a time. The scrolling starting order is too difficult to follow and too difficult for the commentators to work with. Also nice to see the ticker finally spanning the entire 16:9 screen. I wonder how if it takes up too much vertical space on the 4:3 screen like some of their past tickers have. This is also the first ticker to use the actual car number art. I was surprised to see that the new graphics weren't exactly like the NFL set, but I sort of expected this seeing that the NFL ones might not have worked the best with NASCAR. Also, I noticed that they sorta violated their 4:3 tile safe zones with that little position indicator tab, it was a bit cut off when it was at 1st on the 4:3 feed... I saw the tail end of the Bud Shootout, so I didn't see much; but from what I did see, I like. As for FNC's GFX; the last three years, the only thing they've changed are the fonts. The LEAST they could do would be something like an HD update of the 1998-2002 FOX Sports graphics.
