TVNewsRI 4 Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 http://69.28.176.142/cbstv_kcal_live_01?MSWMExt=.asf Beauty montage of LA airing in place. Leyna Nuygen, Anchor, posted this on Facebook: kcal and kcbs knocked off the air for some unknown reason--we're standing by to go live once we're up and running again. first time this has ever happened, keeping both stations off the air for about an hour now. stand by......
rah6448 21 Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Playing blue on the TV's at my house. KCAL/KCBS states as "Breaking News" at the top of their webpage that they are experiencing a power outage. Meanwhile, KCAL seems to have acquired a variation of the graphics package that thier sister station has. Any change in music?
Weeters 1969 Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Apparently it's a power outage. Interesting that they don't have a backup.
rah6448 21 Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 they should!! CBS 2 is a major local station out here, and is a source of info during major events, like earthquakes, such that they can continue to broadcast on radio using the backup available. Meanwhile, people have been tweeting about this freak event. sosweho writes: "Had a power surge here in @westhollywood at 3:10 PM. Could be related?" LA Observed is the source of the tweet.
Weeters 1969 Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 If there was indeed a power surge as well, that could have knocked backup offline... Someone on Twitter said that the live web stream was showing an empty set, so SOME backup had to be working.
rah6448 21 Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 JUST IN: CBS 2 is currently broadcasting their 6pm newscast, as my parents have it on in the living room, with Rick Garcia & Pat Harvey.
ABC7 Los Angeles 1 Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Where did he get the link for the live stream that works even when the news isn't on?
