KCAL/KCBS states as "Breaking News" at the top of their webpage that they are experiencing a power outage. CBS 2 is a major local station out here, and is a source of info during major events, like earthquakes, such that they can continue to broadcast on radio using the backup available. Meanwhile, people have been tweeting about this freak event. sosweho writes: "Had a power surge here in @westhollywood at 3:10 PM. Could be related?" LA Observed is the source of the tweet.
