WGN just dabbled in the "news without anchors" concept

Even though they're obviously not doing a whole newscast in the format, they ran a segment that borrows from the concept. It's called "Pictures of the Day," and it basically recaps the top stories using raw pictures and soundbites from each of the top stories. Today, the segment ran for about 45 seconds-1 minute at the end of the news after the sports. I guess Tribune wanted to squeeze their new idea into a segment here in Chicago?

They've been doing that for a couple months now.. A good chunk of the new Tribune "concept/format" is actually being put together here in Chicago eventhough it's not really going to be implemented here.
