lazynetjunkie 34
I don't know if anyone here has read/heard about this but it was in Phil Rosenthal's blog yesterday that the writers/producers exclusive to cbs2chicago.com (pretty much their web team) have just joined the Writers Guild of America (east), the same union that represents all the other writers at the stations. This makes WBBM the first station in the country where the web only writers/producers are union. Now that this news has gone out, I can see it spreading very fast to other stations.. I can already picture another station in town that will probably do the same not too long from now. You can read more about it at: http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/towerticker/2010/08/wbbm-am-internet-writer-producers-vote-to-join-guild.html#more I can see why they're doing it too (with many stations around the country cutting down on those web only writing/producing positions).
