AutisticPsycho 0 Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 So yeah, I was just flipping around on the channels and I noticed that WLVI was dark, so I went flipped up to WSBK then flipped back to WLVI and I got tones and bars, but CBS NEW YORK was overlayed on bars. Any clue on this? Is the CW national feed run out of NY?
CDubya87 0 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 It's most likley run out of NY. I'm guessing someone may have routed the wrong satellite or something and picked up the CBS New York feed. At my NBC affiliate we are NOT associated in anyway with the local CBS affiliate, but we have a couple of Paramount satellites and we can route in CBS New York as well as the CW. We also have an old UPN satellite reciever that picks up assorted CBS feeds from New York because back in the day before our local FOX signed on, we doubled as the overnight UPN affiliate. But back on topic - it's totally likely that someone just routed the wrong feed and didn't know how to switch it back.
NEPA 0 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 WLVI 56 is a CW station. CW originates at CBS, on W57th Street. On the CW feeds, they fly CBS Bars, since they are owned by CBS. Even the CW HD feeds have CBS Bars.
AutisticPsycho 0 Posted February 18, 2007 Author Posted February 18, 2007 Hey thanks, yeah it just confused me a bit, but it make sense since CW is CBS operation in general.
NEPA 0 Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 AutisticPsycho, here is a post script to my message. The CW does fly their own bars on nights they program. Its 19:40 Monday night, and The CW is sending CW bars on SN2 as well as on their HD feed.
trev17ian 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Interesting. I didn't know that the CW is based in New York City.
