WFXT Expands Morning News to 5.5 Hours

Recommended Posts

WFXT's morning news is now going for an extra hour and half, airing from 4:30 AM to 10 AM.

On top of that, they have cut back on staff across the board, and automated the control room.

They have also failed to replace reporters whom they have cut.

The same 2 anchors also anchor the whole newscast, and the meteorologist is now doing traffic and interviews as well.

Content is being repeated with the exact same wording as many as 5x an hour now.

Sorry I don't have actual numbers for the 2006/2007 ratings, but still, it shows how WFXT's ratings have fallen since the massive cutbacks have taken place.

In my opinion having an understaffed crew and only 2 anchors do a 5 1/2 hour show is not a good way to get ratings. Looks like we will see more of a drop. I know I won't be watching.
