Guest Former Member 207 Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 According to the L.A. Times (and they even mentioned it once before in their Calendar section most recently), KCET Channel 28 will leave PBS at the end of year, and will become an "independent" public TV station. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2010/10/sorry-charlie-rose-los-angeles-pbs-affiliate-kcet-exits-network-fold-to-go-independent-.html
C Block 1566 Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Wow. I wonder does that mean if the BBC World simulcasts are in jeopardy again?
gameshowguy2000 1 Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 And I wonder if that means they won't broadcast Nightly Business Report anymore, which returned under the PBS banner in 2005. For most of its' tenure, the program was under the American Program Service/American Public Television banner.
TexasTVNews 1378 Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Any idea on which station in LA is joining PBS in 2011?
Ntropolis 598 Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Any idea on which station in LA is joining PBS in 2011? There are three other PBS member stations in the market: KLCS, KVCR, and KOCE.
