trev57 46
They're not quite HD yet, but this is a huge step forward. I missed the open, but there is a new lead in for Weather Watch 12 with the upgrade.
Weeters 1817
This really looks like a quick "We really need to go 16:9 quick!" job... lots of the video is still in 4:3 and even things in 16:9 don't look like they're being shot in HD... Some caps: They had a problem with the ticker right as Sports ended:

Some caps: That definatly seems to be the case. Hopefully they will get some of the kinks worked out over time now that they have the test run in, specifically getting a new weather computer. It seemed like the current one was laboring trying to get all of Mark Baden's graphics across the screen.

Well since they're in 16:9 SD, there's not really a point of shooting things in HD. They probably don't have the infrastructure (like room on their servers) for HD footage yet, so they're probably still shooting in 720x480 Anamorphic 16:9. Weeters 1817
Are we sure this is SD? Looks full-on HD to me... It's definitely SD. Studio video doesn't fill the whole screen and is soft and grainy. Graphics are also in SD 16:9. Take a look at this and notice how the fullscreen is fuzzy while the ticker is obviously HD. Another example, look at the bug and then look at everything else. I wonder how long it will be for WDJT to start broadcasting in 16:9. Their entire operation is already HD (as in "Hardly Digital"!) :rofl!:
