The newscast starts Jan. 31 and will be co-hosted by KMEZ-FM's morning show host Lebron Joseph aka LBJ. http://www.nola.com/tv/index.ssf/2011/01/susan_roesgen_to_return_to_new.html Some highlights: Built in a corner of the station’s news studio, the colorful hand-painted set is designed by Magazine Street artist folk artist Simon Hardeveld. Its filigree includes beer-bottle caps and liquor bottles. *************** The anchors will sit on bar stools and engage in a minimally-scripted conversation about the taped stories they’ll introduce. A broadcast-concluding mini-commentary will be dubbed “Last Call.” *************** Rick Erbach, WGNO news director, described the program as a combination of news-talk radio and the syndicated news-and-entertainment “PM Magazine” program of the late 1970s and 1980s. I thought the WPIX format was bad, but this sounds like a cross between a newscast and an old Cheers rerun... EDIT: Oh wait, its a Tribune station. No wonder...
