PelicanGuy 117
Monday's Baton Rouge Advocate did a blurb on Fox affiliate WGMB debuting a 9 pm newscast Tuesday night to go against MyNetwork affiliate WBXH's "My9 News at 9," produced by sister station WAFB, the CBS affiliate. Fox 44's newscast will be produced by sister station WVLA, the NBC affiliate. Anchor Stone Grissom will anchor the newscast with meteorologist Nelson Robinson (the only weather guy WVLA has) doing the weather and sports reporter Chris Mycoskie doing sports. For such a small market, Baton Rouge sure has quite a number of newscasts. WXmanTim 88
Compared to two years ago, they do. WVLA wasn't even doing news (and hadn't for many years after they dropped their lame morning show, which was their only newscast). For the longest time WBRC and WAFB were the only ones producing newscasts. But, since Katrina, Baton Rouge has grown and there appears to be a market for the extra newscasts.
