KDFW 1990 and KIRO 1993: Non-Stop?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've begun wondering if the KDFW 1990 and KIRO 1993 news themes on the NMSA are actually from Non-Stop Music. They have that big-orchestra sound of the original First News, Broadcast News, and Primetime News cuts; I know the Seattle Symphony Orchestra performed the KIRO theme.

KDFW 1990:

KIRO 1993:

What do you all think; could they be Non-Stop? I e-mailed Non-Stop Music and haven't gotten a response...

You probably won't hear back from them. Most companies (that I am aware of) in the news music industry will not talk to someone unless they are employed by a professional TV station and can prove it (which I think is unfortunate, because they are missing out on a potential source of profit from devotees of this stuff, like myself and others).

But to answer your question: Yes, it really is from Non-Stop. If you go to Non-Stop's site (http://www.nonstopmusic.com/), click on News Music, then scroll down to Broadcast News and listen to some of the cuts. Makes me feel 8 years old again (recalls fond memories). Sigh...if only we could repeat childhood with the stuff we know now.

Sorry, I don't hear KDFW 1990 News Theme in Broadcast News. (This is the one that WKBD also used around 1990 as well.)

But anyway, if anybody knows who might have done KDFW 1990 or KIRO 1993, please help. I still think they may well be Non-Stop, even though no info out there points toward them (or anybody, for that matter).
