  1. WBTW has hired Annette Peagler , to co-anchor the 5:30 and 11 p.m. newscasts and sole anchor the 10 p.m. newscast on WFXB. She replaces Nicole Boone who has retire from the anchor desk and now the Special Events Anchor. This is one hire that I am exited to see! The last African American woman to anchor the weeknight evening news at WBTW (Vanessa Hill) left in 1994. Annette starts in a couple of weeks.

  3. Comcast and Hearst have reached a new retrans deal covering the entire group, including the out-of-market stations that were scheduled to be dropped later this month. Those stations will remain on Comcast systems in the affected markets.

  8. Ok this is one of those posts (not very substantive), but I feel this was slightly interesting to see -- the color and format (with the black behind the eye and the thick blue bar) look kind of like a "transition-esque" thing compared to anything else we've seen with the CBS look. Sorry if this has already been brought up/isn't new. Anyways, besides this, the overall chyrons have not changed so nothing else is implied or obvious.

  9. Not breaking (announced earlier last week), but Tiffany Cross and Jonathan Capehart will be taking over for the weekend morning slot last permanently filled by Joy Reid (10AM-12PM). Tiffany will anchor Saturdays and Jonathan will anchor Sundays. These will be two separate branded shows and not just the same show led by two different people. [Link 1] and [Link 2]

  10. Back in the 90s, there were several stations that copied off of 's look and logo, including those that were owned by Bert Ellis at the time ( , , and KSLA). Even and (pre-WKMG) had copied off the look at one time.

  11. Sadly 2020 and Pancreatic Cancer just had to take another precious life away from us. KWTV Chief Photographer Greg Blackwood sadly passed away and Morning Anchor Robin Marsh posted the sad news on Facebook.
