  1. I'm not. Think of all the unforeseen issues that are likely to happen with the launch (like anytime a station launches a new graphics package, for example, let alone a whole new newscast). Having those issues right before the biggest story of the year when viewership is up and more eyeballs to catch a possible major issue makes for a bad first impression. Recent example is KSAZ last night testing their election ticker... And whoever runs that for them probably isn't brand new to the job.

  2. Good point, the last thing the stations need is for more people to see them screw up. That one KSAZ issue could send Arizona’s election into a tailspin just because of all the craziness surrounding it.

  3. Camille Edwards worked at WPVI from 1997-2003. Shirleen worked there from 2010-2015. There was no overlap. The only thing about WPVI that helped Shirleen get her job was that she did a great job at an ABC O&O close to home and it was easy for management in New York to notice her.

  4. One year into Fox Weather's existence, one of the major barriers between Fox Weather and FNC has been broken. Today, Amy Freeze was tapped as a guest host on FNC's Outnumbered. When she says "joining", she doesn't just mean a single segment; she was actually a guest co-host (filling in for Harris Faulkner) for the full hour today.

  5. I’m surprised they aren’t rolling everything out right now. I’m not just talking about the graphics; I’m referring to the new newscasts in both Detroit and LA. The midterms are going to see higher news viewership than normal, and this would be the best time to launch. To me, it doesn’t really make sense to wait until general interest in news has waned to launch new newscasts.

  6. Sorry to be repeating this, but when do we think we will see the new graphics? Every post I've seen says November. November will be here before you know it.

  7. Camille Edwards was not promoted internally to WABC VP/ND. She was hired from WRC, the D.C. NBC affiliate.

  8. And BEK is already making a change. They want to operate the new KNGF from KVLY's tower. Talk about full-market coverage. The original application would only serve Grand Forks and area surrounding it.
