  1. Its about time WFLX replaced their horrible fake FOX font logo after 18 years. A much better improvement for WFLX, IMO. Plus, finally using the actual FOX logo for the first time since 2008.

  2. Which could be the death knell for the deal, since the FCC cannot get around what courts say.

  3. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that a coalition of states including California, Colorado and New York are planning an antitrust challenge to the deal.

  4. Hindsight is 20-20 indeed. If not a new facility from the ground up, WOIO/WUAB could've just gone the KMOV route and relocate to an office building that already exists.

  5. Isn't GrayOne using Barlow (another open source font)? If you don't like it, you're definitely not going to like what the NBC O&O's are using... (It's a modified version of Barlow)

  6. Oprah has hardly been in the forefront of culture for years now. She pops up here and there but is mostly out of the eye. There’s no way to assess who does or doesn’t make the primary association to being Oprah’s friend and it’s wise not to assume others think the same way as oneself on a wide scale. One can know of and “care” (like, dislike) a public figure, in this case the media, without being a regular viewer. The two are not inextricably linked.

  7. It's been a problem for years. WOIO employees have had to deal with many of the same issues including rat infestations, being harassed by vagrants, and even the heat going out earlier this year. Gray really messed up by not pursuing the new studios in Independence. And in hindsight, they should have moved in with WUAB on Day Drive in their purpose-built studios way back when they merged. Parmatown may have been booming back then, but it emptied out soon enough as all of the action shifted to Strongsville and South Park mall... 30 years ago, Reserve Square was high-class living, and even had fancy commercials on the radio on how swank it was to live "in the heart of the city". Sounds like little has been done to keep it viable as more people are moving downtown. It may as well be a section 8 development in it's current state.

  8. The extended cuts are on the News Music Archive, and honestly, it's not bad. I think it's a definite upgrade over the a Capella stuff they had for way too long. Wouldn't mind a bit more bass in it though.
