  1. They just announced at the end of the midday newscast that today was Tom's last day on that newscast, and he'll only be doing the Evening, Nine, and Ten newscasts going forward. Demetrius is taking over the Midday news. Any idea what this means for the 4-6 AM news? I haven't heard.

  2. I'm glad they gave Linda such a fitting goodbye. She truly deserves it. She's been such a fun and inspirational host for so many years.

The best part was when Linda and Micah did tricep dips together at the news desk. So hilarious! Micah was having a blast!

  3. CLTV "Sports Feed" co-host Josh Frydman is doing sports for Rich this evening. Once a producer for the station, this is the first time, to my knowledge, that he's filled in on the mothership.

Actually, I think it's the second. I saw him on the mothership a few weeks ago.

Interestingly, he didn't stick around for the 9pm news. To my shock, Dan Roan actually came in on a Saturday to do the 9pm.

  4. I like it, too. It's probably the best promo they've done in a while IMO.

On an unrelated note, they keep running these cryptic ads for "Crime Watch Daily." What is it? I think it's a show, but where is it going to fit into the schedule?

Isn't it taking over the extra Maury slot that they currently have in the afternoon? (Probably the 3 PM one)
  5. WGN tasked Sean Lewis with filling in for Mark Suppelsa on the 9 PM news Friday night, which I'm sure was quite the honor for him. It seems his stock at WGN is rising. He had a long feature report on the 9PM news earlier in the week, and now he was given a shot to anchor the big show, as well.

This fill-in task doesn't excuse Sean from his normal duties, however, as at the end of the newscast, he said that he'd see us all in a few hours for the WGN Morning News at 6 AM, at which point fellow fill-in anchor Dina Bair gave him a sympathetic pat on the back since Sean wasn't exactly going to be getting much sleep overnight, if any.
