Looks like MLB is producing the Seattle Mariner's telecasts on Root Sports. Standard MLB Local graphics package, but ROOT Sports substituted for the MLB logo.

There's a lot of little hints of the Ballys/FanDuel gfx package. I'm curious to know if these will be the new FDSN package. Makes no sense in creating a new package for Gray... plus they won't even be producing the telecasts .

It'll probably have something tying it Amazon. Prime Sports? Amazon Sports? etc. They're not investing all that money to be a silent investor.

D'Backs sticking with MLB to produce/distribute their telecasts. MLB will also produce & distribute select Spring Training & regular season games for the Padres & Rockies this season. These ventures will be branded with MLB's .TV moniker... i.e. Padres.TV/Rockies.TV/Dbacks.TV MLB has hinted at plans to bring their own league-controlled DTC venture which would take over the television distribution rights for at least a dozen teams in 2025. This is expected to occur once the television rights of clubs affiliated with Bally Sports are reverted back to their respective teams.

I wonder if they're using the upstairs setup that KSWB when the current set was built? The textured wall panels were also from KSWB's previous set.

Well, what San Diego and Arizona have with MLB is still a pay tv channel. Nothing has changed there except who's running it (and that its no longer a 24/7 channel). Who knows if MLB even has an appetite to make games available OTA- for free. Obviously they won't be able to command high sub fees but can get something in return to the clubs and tie-in any carriage deals to the main network. This off season will determine what the future is with MLB and broadcasting locally. They did not exactly create this in-house media department just to be used for less than one season. There must be more to this than meets the eye...

I'm sure MLB is going to push hard to get them to join the MLB Local bandwagon. Considering the other two MLB takeovers are in the National League West, it makes sense for Colorado to join the pack. Makes me wonder if MLB is considering making local off-shoot of MLB Network for these cities to supply content and have a full time channel for the teams? MLB Network San Diego/Arizona?

Totally agree. Sadly, there really aren't that many on-air talent left that even remotely have the connection/association with the KGTV of the late 80s-early 00s when they were on top of their game. This whole celebration seems like it was done in haste and on the cheap. Let's get a couple of sound bites, some b-roll and a few cheap decorations/logos and call it a day.

Clearly they never bothered to fix the Twitter feed on the right side as it has tweets from 2019 embedded on there... Hmm, the two former anchors suing the station, front and center...

Kinda curious to see what will happen editorially with KUSI. Will the current mgmt from KSWB allow them to continue with their slanted perspective & the reporters/anchors making themselves part of the story with opinions (i.e. Dan Plante), or have them tone it down? Seems like KUSI is already operating with a bare-bones on-air staff, so I doubt they'll make cuts there.

Can't see how Paul Rudy, Mark Mathis and Logan Byrnes fit in long term when Nexstar comes in. They're probably making decent money and their positions become redundant when trying to slash costs. Assuming KSWB's staff stays in place, it'll be dejavu for Elizabeth Alvarez and Misha DiBono in their return to the KUSI building.

I just can't picture Nexstar being able to fit both operations at either location unless they were to expand the building. If they're going to keep both entities as a semi-separate operation, then they would be wise to start looking at other places they could purchase/remodel. Either way you slice it, any move(s) Nexstar makes will come with backlash from KUSI's audience. The channel has a niche audience that is not sustainable on it's own. They do run a pretty lean operation there, so any efficiencies will probably be minimal. The biggest question will be: will they completely dismantle the anchor teams or shift them to different hours as to not compete with FOX 5?

She should have done her research prior to going over to KUSI. Yes, promises were probably made for her to do more than feature/lifestyle reporting but she should have seen the mess the station was and still is going through. I seem to recall that Jenny was doing some anchor fill-in while at KFMB. Who knows what the story of her leaving from there really is, but at the end of the day, it's more stable than being at KUSI. If you're an anchor at KUSI, you're not guaranteed a spot for long, unless your name is Paul Rudy. Everyone else is on borrowed time. Heck, after several years of being demoted, promoted, demoted, Elizabeth Alvarez finally left the station for KSWB. The reality is that going into next year, i'm sure every station will be looking to cut costs left and right. One can see how thin KGTV, KNSD and KUSI are with on-air people- let alone behind the scenes. Jenny is good and talented, hopefully she'll land on her feet soon.

They've been playing some new music on the spring training telecasts, and the only remnant of the MLB on FOX theme is down to the very short open. Hopefully they go with a high quality look- graphics wise.

He came to FOX 11 from KFMB, not KSWB. He's a good anchor and reporter, but I never really saw his appeal as the top anchor. When he left KFMB, they were doing very well in the mornings, his co-anchor Nichelle Medina was let go a few months after Dan left. I'm sure it was difficult for him to achieve the same chemistry/friendship at Fox 11, that he had with Nichelle for the 15 years they anchored together. Let's see what he ends up doing next...
