  1. Color me surprised. Longtime KTLA 5 reporter Christina Pascucci has now jumped ship to Fox 11.
  2. Little follow up. With Karyn Greer's arrival, WSB has announced the new Evening Anchor lineup, effective tonight (9/6). 4pm - Wendy Corona & Justin Farmer 5pm - Karyn Greer & Jorge Estevez 6pm - Linda Stouffer & Justin Farmer 11pm - Wendy Corona & Jorge Estevez
  3. Back to WSMV. They've made a small branding change this Labor Day. The news brand has changed "News 4 Nashville" to "WSMV 4 News". They've also the first station to use new theme music from (founder of 615 Music) Randy Wachtler's new music firm, 11 One/Music.
  4. Channel 12 changed the opens with the updated logo last week (8/29). I think WCVB was the only one to change to that logo, several months ago. Now every other station is playing catch up.
  5. Actually its been the first time since January 2008, when they changed the brand from "CBS Detroit" to "WWJ-TV". Almost 15 years.
  6. Nashville also (re)launched the network this week (8/29). WSMV carried the network in its subchannel from 2006 till the end of 2010. And talk about WSMV expanding newscast with its 3pm later on this month, sister station in Savannah WTOC is adding a local afternoon show "Afternoon Break" at 3pm, dropping Drew Barrymore from the lineup on the 12th. We have a new small M&A. Gray is fetching another LP in Texas. They're getting College Station's K14TB-LD from MIK, Inc. for $12K.
  7. The station has a college football game airing tonight. They did it at the right time.
  8. So two things...... Follow-up. Weigel is giving this station some fresh new calls. WOCV-CD. It'll be in effect on September 20. Also, one R&O. A PBS station in Virginia. WVPT (10 > 15)
  9. CMG's HQ is based out of Atlanta, despite being owned by a private equity that's based out of New York.
  10. Okay the Atlanta News First talk is in this thread.
  11. Here's the write-up about "Atlanta News First" from TVNewsCheck.
  12. Big News. Gray's largest TV station could be changing its callsign this fall. Its CBS station in Atlanta, WGCL-TV has filed an app to change its callsign to WANF. If approved, the change would go in effect on October 3.
  13. The Maury repeats are headed to WCIU at 11am, before his successor show Karamo comes on. All the NBC trash talkers will be on one place.
  14. It's been handled.
  15. An update from above: From Its website, WCYB turned off RF 5 back last Monday (8/22) and are now operating on its STA facility on RF 35. Good Riddance! EDIT: Sister station in Green Bay, WLUK is about to switch to the UHF dial (RF 18) this Wednesday at 11am. __________________________________________________ Two R&Os today. The PBS stations in Maine. WCBB (10 > 20) WMEB (9 > 22)
  16. Good Day LA anchor Michaela Pereira is leaving the station. Her last day will be September 9th.
  17. So small follow up regarding the Telemundo expansion. As of now, no word on when they'll launch in the new markets. But in anticipation of its launch, Gray is in the process of changing the callsigns of those LPs it recently bought.
  18. Good news for the Tri-Cities region. Looks like WCYB is getting ready to light up its UHF signal. That means goodbye to that VHF-low hell-hole. The station has filed an STA app to light up RF 35 with a power of 374.2 kW for a period of 90 days. Afterwards, they'll crank up to a full maximized 1 million watts.
  19. Follow up. That was quick. Apparently, WDTV has switched off of VHF 5 and lit up UHF 33 on Friday (8/12). The License to Cover of its new allotment/facility was posted today. ___________________________ Okay unrelated to this, the permits of two new allotments (Alexandria (TCT) & Vernal (Ventura Media)) from Auction 112 was approved last week. In the case of the Vernal, Ventura has already selected its new callsign. KEMS.
  20. Y'all guesses are good as mine. I would love to know the reason why they withdrew. At the time they filed these new petitions last year, I was thinking why would they would want to switch these two to UHF? Given that both areas (Grand Junction & Twin Falls) are kind of rural, and probably have more OTA viewership (especially in the far fringes) via outdoor antennas.
  21. Gray has withdrew two of its petitions. Both will stay on VHF. KKCO (12 > 30) KMVT (11 > 16)
  22. Okay, the paperwork regarding the construction permit apps of the 18 new allotments are now up. Gray: Freeport, Eagle River, Flagstaff, Yuma & Winnemucca. Weigel: Wittenberg, Silver City, Carlsbad, Ely & Tonopah. Marquee: Walla Walla, Sheridan & Price. Sinclair: Syracuse BEK: Grand Forks TCT: Alexandria Ventura: Vernal Aberdeen (SD), Eureka, Fairbanks, Jackson (WY), Butte, Great Falls, Havre (MT), Idaho Falls & Sun Valley (ID) had no bidders. Had a sense that TCT was going all-in on the Minnesota allotment, but I wished they could've fetched that Aberdeen one to add a repeater to KTTW. Gray should've broke the bank on Grand Folks. But that's just me.
  23. A small M&A. Gray is getting two LPs in Wyoming. They're acquiring W28HL-D Riverton & W30GV-D Shoshani from the Riverton Fremont TV Club for $25K.
  24. Scripps got its replacement. WXYZ ND Jeff Kiernan will be the new VP/GM at Channel 13. He was also the former ND at WTMJ & WBBM.
