Fayetteville is an odd one, since there are no Gray stations in NW Arkansas, and the prospects aren't great of acquiring one - the most likely scenario I can see is that Tegna and Standard collapse, then acquires Hearst, leaving Gray with the leftovers.
Gray recently bought that Macon LP (not sure if they launched Telemundo yet). But if they hold on to that LP, I wouldn't be shocked if it would launch Telemundo there (if it isn't already launched).
Anywho, remember back in January, Gray bought a slew of LPs (24) from Jeff Winemiller's Lowcountry Media?
Well tonight, Gray is snagging Nine more from him for $1.8M.
Spoiler- K19NE-D - Gateway, CO
- W36EO-D - La Grange, GA
- K21PD-D - Columbia, MO
- K33MN-D - Jefferson City, MO
- W30EZ-D - Purvis, MS
- WYBM-LD - Westmoreland, NH
- W28FG-D - Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH
- K21PE-D - Tyler, TX
- K17OY-D - Centerville, WA

And BEK is already making a change.
They want to operate the new KNGF from KVLY's tower. Talk about full-market coverage.
The original application would only serve Grand Forks and area surrounding it.

B&C has stated that CBS News correspondent Jamie Yuccas will anchor the 7-10am portion of the new KCAL AM show.
Still no word on a launch date.

WMBP-LD is on the air and is currently broadcasting a relay of WALA's main FOX feed on 31.3 In HD and rebroadcasting Telemundo Atlanta on 31.4 in widescreen SD. They still have to finalize the PSIP but it looks like it's going to be 31.1 and 31.2.
They've also filed with the FCC and completed their change of COL from Eastabuchie, MS to Mobile, AL.
Good they got that lit up. Let's see what they're going to do with WGUD-LD to the west. That LP will become WTBL-LD.
Anyway, New M&A. Gray is snagging some LPs in Arkansas.
They're getting these three from Larry Morton's KTV Media for $535K.
- KJNM-LD Fayetteville
- KJBW-LD Paragould
- KJTB-LD Paragould (formerly K36MT-D)
The latter two are in KAIT 8's territory.

Looking at the guide, it aired that "Weekend Adventure" E/I programming. Which is a requirement. They had to air those.

New Petition. A PBS station in the Cornhusker state wants to vacate that VHF dial.
- KUON (12 > 27)
Now currently, the RF 27 allotment is occupied by an LP station KFDY-LD, owned by Flood Communications.
Of course, regular low-power stations don't get protection of their allotments. But what we have saw in Medford and in Vegas where those owners of those LPs have filed objections to those channel moves. One has settled (Medford); the other one hasn't (Vegas). It'll be interesting if Flood would follow suit and file an objection.

Okay, the paperwork regarding the construction permit apps of the 18 new allotments are now up.
- Gray: Freeport, Eagle River, Flagstaff, Yuma & Winnemucca.
- Weigel: Wittenberg, Silver City, Carlsbad, Ely & Tonopah.
- Marquee: Walla Walla, Sheridan & Price.
- Sinclair: Syracuse
- BEK: Grand Forks
- TCT: Alexandria
- Ventura: Vernal
So small follow-up.
Last month, two permits were approved (Alexandria & Vernal).
Today (9/13), the sixteen remaining permits were granted.

Is the 12th the premiere of the weekday news on KCAL?
The program guide, it does not list the KCAL 9 morning show premiering on Monday.
On the press release, it did say "fall", but it never stated a specific date.

Alrighty, small M&A. Gray is getting another LP near its home base.
They're getting Athens, GA LP, W20EQ-D from Madison Avenue Ventures for $12K.
The other Athens LP Gray has is W33EU-D.
EDIT: I should also mention that Gray has completed its LP deal to get Pascagoula, MS's WGUD-LD.
It'll be interesting to see whether they'll move WGUD to WLOX's tower or not.

Color me surprised. Longtime KTLA 5 reporter Christina Pascucci has now jumped ship to Fox 11.

Back to WSMV. They've made a small branding change this Labor Day.
The news brand has changed "News 4 Nashville" to "WSMV 4 News". They've also the first station to use new theme music from (founder of 615 Music) Randy Wachtler's new music firm, 11 One/Music.

Nothing truly exciting/groundbreaking here as Hearst starts to get the de-glossed logos on their stations with WISN-TV today (note the bug just has the new bug overlaying the old ABC logo, apparent when it does the freeze-in prevention animation);
Channel 12 changed the opens with the updated logo last week (8/29).
I think WCVB was the only one to change to that logo, several months ago. Now every other station is playing catch up.

I knew eventually WWJ would pick up the 'NEXT Weather' and return to the 'CBS Detroit' brand for the first time in 20 years.
Actually its been the first time since January 2008, when they changed the brand from "CBS Detroit" to "WWJ-TV". Almost 15 years.

It looks like Telemundo Birmingham is Live.
Nashville also (re)launched the network this week (8/29). WSMV carried the network in its subchannel from 2006 till the end of 2010.
And talk about WSMV expanding newscast with its 3pm later on this month, sister station in Savannah WTOC is adding a local afternoon show "Afternoon Break" at 3pm, dropping Drew Barrymore from the lineup on the 12th.
We have a new small M&A. Gray is fetching another LP in Texas.
They're getting College Station's K14TB-LD from MIK, Inc. for $12K.

Note how this was done before football season; I will be very happy to have that white whale (ALWAYS been bad since they launched their digi signal) in my channel lineup, and this makes Green Bay an all-UHF market (including whatever Weigel's Wittenberg station will be).
The station has a college football game airing tonight. They did it at the right time.

They're acquiring W27EA-D from Media-Com Television, Inc. for $2.2M.
Follow-up. Weigel is giving this station some fresh new calls. WOCV-CD. It'll be in effect on September 20.
Also, one R&O. A PBS station in Virginia.

Mentioned this in the
Gray thread(later, a new thread), but the station has requested to get rid of the WGCL call letters.Could this new set include a branding change as well (bye-bye CBS 46?)

Big News. Gray's largest TV station could be changing its callsign this fall.
Its CBS station in Atlanta, WGCL-TV has filed an app to change its callsign to WANF.
If approved, the change would go in effect on October 3.

They're snagging another one......
K14NR-D from C. Dowen Johnson for $230K.
Gray already operates K31PR which is their primary repeater for KLTV. It'll be interested what they'll do with these two new LPs.
