I didn’t feel that the Washington DC set was grand. This looks much warmer. I wonder if they will keep the music. I’d like the Dan Rather era music to make a comeback.

SAME!!!!!! What’s with the crooked vertical panels above the monitor in this pic? You can see a few on the left and a few on the right. Is it a photo artifact or are those panels installed wrong?

Overall it seems like a downgrade from their previous set which had a lot of areas for dynamic shots using the talent. I’m quite annoyed they aren’t using the far back wall at all, a total waste of valuable studio space that could be used for more versatile shots. Could be a great multipurpose area. The weather center seems like an afterthought shoved in the opposite corner. Photo is from Albert Ramon’s IG.

Just saw a promo for ET where they said CBS Chicago. So you are correct “CBS 2” is likely being phased out.

I just walked past. The shades are still drawn but the desk is in there. It’s placed where the 2008 news desk was with the anchors facing out towards the windows. To the left is a 3 panel area. Couldn’t see much else.

Looking forward to seeing what it looks like and hope it gets full use for years to come! I hope it has some warm elements.

I really hope they use the full studio and that it's used for news. It's a huge space for just weather...

It looks so sloppily done. The mismatched 2, the microscopic flag above the L3, the misaligned text in the L3, dont even get me started on the hideous 7 day forecast graphics and the desk not matching anything....

Agree! Really hope they build out a nice new set to use up all that great space and keep it functional for some versatility in shots.

Walked past the channel 2 studio today. They had black curtains down around all of the windows. I remember reading how they were going to begin reusing the street-level studio after the jumbotron was repaired. Does anyone know if they started building out the studio?

What if they hire from outside? I wonder if they’d do that for a lead. The only time in recent memory was when Ron Magers left channel 5…

Dang - watching cbs 2 news at 10 right now and albert ramon is doing the 10pm weather...he also was on for the morning show today too.

Is this the other side of those windows? Sucks they only have a few windows for that entire wall. But good they have some light coming in!

I walk past there every Friday and they have put a few cubicles in there. Not very many lights and it’s dark but there are people working on desks there. It’s very odd.
