  1. Missed this, it was Jenn Karlman's (of KSWB) last day on Aug 9. Just saw a post on Instagram that Maria Arcega-Dunn is taking her place starting 9/9.
  2. KNSD's Whitney Southwick is retiring today.
  3. Jason Martinez's last day at KGTV was this past Friday.
  4. Today was Gene Cubbison's last day at KNSD! He is retiring! He is going to be missed for sure! KNSD did a nice piece on him.
  5. I agree. They were way better in the late 90's. I don't care to watch these days and I wish Sandra Maas was somewhere else, not there. I can't even bring myself to watch Carlos in the morning though I loved him on KTLA. I still watch them in the morning.
  6. So at KNSD, Llarisa Abreu was doing weather on this mornings broadcast with Whitney there doing traffic. Not sure if this is permanent as her bio indicates she does weekend weather and her bio has been updated since Jodi was let go.
  7. I think most stations here in San Diego have predominantly females doing weather.
  8. KNSD does the same thing. Jodi is the meteorologist and does the weather in the morning. Whitney just does traffic and then does weather for Midday.
  9. Lol, I know. Just takes some getting used to. Prepping us for the O&O graphics. Hahaha.
  10. KSWB got new mic flags. Kinda weird looking to me... But maybe a precursor to a new logo...
  11. But you're not. Lol.
  12. Robert Santos has surfaced at KNSD... Didn't realize he wasn't at KGTV, though it makes sense. Probably freelance.
  13. I've been waiting for them to do this, since this is similar to KTLA. I wonder why only until 6 and not until 7. Also, I wonder if Brad will do weather from 430-6?
  14. Well there you have it!
  15. Apparently Chris Murphy is coming back to San Diego as an anchor at KSWB. Not sure what slot he is filling. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/on-the-move-92016/178380?utm_medium=newsletter&utm_source=tvspy&utm_campaign=dailynewsletter20160920
  16. My guess is Abbey Gibb will replace her (she was on this morning with Sharon Chen and Abbey sat in Raoul spot). She filled in a lot when Erica was on maternity leave and when Erica came back I wondered, what are they going to do with her. Now it all makes sense in hind sight.
  17. Well, it looks like Ruben Galvan has returned to San Diego and resumed his position at XETV. Saw him reporting from Comic Con this morning. I had also seen marching in the pride parade on Saturday but I didn't think anything of it. Jim Patton and Lynda Martin also marched.
  18. It seems they are going in house. I just saw a promo featuring Greg Bledsoe and Marianne Kushi for News Today.
  19. Also, there's this to add: http://www.sandiegoradio.org/2016/01/clint-august-now-tv-show-host.html?m=1 Kinda out of left field. Seems they're trying just anything at this point. We'll see how this goes.
  20. Though it's not an O&O, KFMB has also been using that Super Bowl logo. Their bug toggles between their 8 and the Super Bowl logo.
  21. Lynda Martin is going back to XETV to fill the morning seat vacated by Heather Myers. A seat that Lynda held before Heather Myers. This makes it the third time around at XETV for Lynda. http://www.sandiegoradio.org/2016/01/familiar-face-returning-to-cw-6-morning.html?m=1
  22. No sign of Heather this morning. At least when I tuned in at 430. Jeff Zevely was doing weather.
  23. Kaushal Patel showed at KSWB filling in this Christmas Eve. [/img]
  24. KGTV Midday Open and Report (1994-1998) Also a KGTV Midday Close (1994-1998) I think this was KGTV's best theme and branding to date. Also, here is an open from 2000 when they were using the Liquid Blade production music: And here is some behind the scenes video from KGTV in 2000: I wish I could find video of the theme KGTV was using from 1998-2000 when they used the slogan "People Make the Difference." That also was a top one for me for KGTV. If anyone has it, please post. Thanks!
  25. KGTV as well, though they had their 7 PM broadcast prior to Scripps buying them.
