  13. Thanks...dunno that much about Canadian television. Still an interesting capsule of time. And, at the time, CBC's flagship newscast was the ill-fated "Prime Time News" with Peter Mansbridge and Pamela Wallin. "The National" was still on the air, but on Newsworld. PTN was at 9:00 pm opposite very heavy competition on CTV and the U.S. networks, while The National was still at 10:00 pm. Later in the fall, PTN returned to 10:00 with Mansbridge as solo anchor. In the fall of 1995, after slumping ratings, CBC ended the pain once and for all by firing Wallin and returning The National back to the mother network where it belonged. Jonathan Allen
