This may sound nuts...but since game shows, soaps and syndicated shows are out of the question, my guess is the View can take advantage of its ABC News production unit and have the show go as a straight hard news program. A la Nightline.
Or show reruns of 20/20's umbrella shows, "What Will You do?" That brings in the 18-49 Women demographic. And it serves as a good lead in to the midday news.
Man, I'm not a NYer, but when I do watch that particular open it feels that you are watching a NY program, as opposed to today's shell of its former self.
The biggest irony is that, this is a LOCAL image campaign which has the budget/feel of a NATIONAL campaign. (Can you believe the same year this was when CBS had "TV You Can Feel (aka You can Feel it on CBS)??" If only the network had the cojones to use it as the NATIONAL promo who knew it would give ABC and NBC a run for its money. :bang:
